PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COUNSELLING
Psychotherapy will further develop skills, and resources to address the emotions, situations, and relationships bringing you to therapy.
In our sessions we will identify therapeutic work and develop a treatment plan. Therapy varies according to the issues and needs brought by each client and we will identify therapy goals at our first session together.
I have experience working with a broad range of client issues. A safe therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to me and I strive to provide people with efficient and useful therapy work as part of my commitment as a psychotherapist.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
Carl Jung

ABOUT ME
Susan Kim, MA, RP - Psychotherapy and Counselling in Ottawa
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the Ontario College of Psychotherapists.
Therapy is a space where personal issues are explored and considered with safety and support. It can be a place where resolution, clarity, and growth happens.
Within each of us are the resources for meaningful relationships, self view, and knowing our place in the world. I work from interpersonal, attachment, and developmental models to examine present day issues, or issues from the past (depending on where your work lies), and your internal resources and inherent skills will naturally strengthen throughout the therapeutic process. These skills and internal resources support us during life’s challenges, and bring resources to the negative effects felt from yesterday.
A safe therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to me and I strive to provide people with efficient and useful therapy work. We will work collaboratively so that you will identify your goals in therapy, and establish your treatment priorities.
Some of the issues I work with are: PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Compulsive Behaviors, Sexual Trauma, Relationship and Family problems, workplace issues, career transitions.
I received my training at the University of Saint Paul, in Ottawa, with a specialization in Individual Counselling. I was an Associate Therapist and volunteered as the Administrative Director at the Centre for Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma for 10 years following graduation and have worked in private practice in Ottawa since 2007. I am currently the Clinical Director at Glebe Psychotherapy.
I have trained in various therapies including EMDR, AEDP, Existential and Psychodynamic approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Sandtray Worldplay, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and different Experiential techniques. I pursue ongoing clinical supervision and continuing education as part of my professional development.
I offer clinical supervision and consultation to therapists working toward registration with CRPO, and students completing practicum requirements for their training programs.
I practice from the Offices at Glebe Psychotherapy, centrally located in Ottawa at 100 Fourth Ave, Suite 20 (on the corner of Bank Street and Fourth Ave) where I have been located since 2017.
